Fourth Street Live celebrates Cinco de Mayo
With the Derby in the rearview, if only by a day, it was time to turn attention to another cause for celebration and luckily, Sunday provided.
Dozens came out to commemorate Cinco de Mayo in Louisville with crowds packing Fourth Street Live and remember the victory of Mexican forces over French invaders at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.
Since the 1980s, it’s become a popular celebration of Mexican American culture in the US.
Fourth Street Live had a free family fiesta complete with mariachi bands and other folk performances.
