Louisville nonprofit host Super Bowl party for people without homes

A Louisville nonprofit is making sure everyone gets a chance to enjoy the Super Bowl this year.

Chabad of Kentucky's Project Friendly hosted a "Super Soul" Super Bowl party for those without homes at 4th Street Live! on Sunday night. The organization partnered with homeless shelters, local food outlets, barbers and community activists to help educate the public about homelessness.

The event not only featured the big game but also hot food, haircuts, free clothing and resources for those in need.

“It’s not just about football,” said director of Project Friendship, Rabbi Chaim Litvin. “The Super Bowl is a celebration of America, and celebrating America is not possible without all Americans, regardless of race, religion, economic status and housing situation."

The charity provides more than $5,000,000 in support and apparel to people in need across Kentucky.
